The second term of every session has always been earmarked for SSS 2 students’ presentations. They are always divided into groups and are assigned topics which they would enlighten the school community about. This year, Louizans currently in SSS 2 took to enlightening the school on their perspectives on the ways out of unemployment in Nigeria with entrepreneurship development as a major solution. The topic each group was to give presentation on was carefully thought out as unemployment is and has been an issue for a long time now.
The ever-attentive audience and judges heard much and were inspired to think up entrepreneurial skills. Louizans and staff who thought professions are gender-sensitive learnt that it makes no sense to do so as everyone should be allowed to follow their passions without being stigmatised due to their job preferences. Examples of Nigerians, especially females, who run successful businesses were cited as proofs that entrepreneurship development is one of the most powerful solutions to the unemployment issue in Nigeria.
The presentations led by eloquent speakers were enlightening. The team members displayed teamwork and got to know the members of their groups better. A major skill the Set learnt is the ability to address a crowd. We all await the performance of the next set of SSS 2 girls.
